My Brother-In-Law In Action…
My B-I-L , Craig, is the drummer for Dallas based artist, Brittnee Belt. They were playing an event this past Friday, so my family and I went to see them. They really are very good, and of course, Craig is ‘the man’. I suggest you listen to (and of course buy) the new album, as it’s really good. Also, check out her website, and be sure to notice the charity she is a part of, which is midway down her main page (A Hopeful Heart Foundation).
Anyway, I took a few pics while there. These are all (I think, or at least most) with the 30D and Sigma 15/F2.8. The lighting was HORRIBLE, and the yellowish tint you see was the actually lighting color, not a WB issue. Yea, so, grainy, slowish shutter, weird angles, etc, but I still liked em a little, so I decided to share. Anyway, here ya go…
Da-Birds! In The House?
So, we went to Dallas for the weekend, and came back last night. I went out to the Jeep to get the dog’s cage, and as I came back inside, one of the baby birds from the nest right outside the door flew into the house. Then, as my wife opened the door to let it out, another one flew in. After about 10 minutes, I caught one and threw it outside (nicely, and it flew away). The other one flew all over the house running into walls and what not for another 10-15 minutes before leaving. We had the front and back doors open, but they just couldn’t seem to find a way out. They would even perch on the door frame right above the opening, but not leave. Little did those birds realize they were being stalked by 3 fat, but nimble cats, and two pansy dogs. Woof!
In the video linked in this post, you will see bags, kids toys, and a bunch of other stuff all over the floors. This is because we had just brought everything in from the trip, things were moved and played with as the kids were excited to be home, and it is all everywhere. Also, the toilet paper roll on the counter, there really is a good reason for that…
They were hard to catch with the camera because they were fast, and in a closed space. I did get a few shots off though, and my wife got a video. She was scared (as you will see in the vid), and it was hilarious! hahaha!
Here is the video:
And here are a couple of pics, all w/ the 30D, Sigma 15/2.8, and external/dedicated flash…
Bye-Bye Canon 10-22. Hello Others…
I am the proud new owner of:
Canon BG-E2 Battery Grip + 3rd Battery
Canon 28 F/2.8 (prime)
Sigma 15 F/2.8 EX Diagonal Fisheye (which is just a REALLY wide prime on a crop 1.6 sensor)
I got the grip, 24/2.8 and 15/2.8 a few nights ago in trade for a 10-22. I didn’t use the UWA as much as I thought, and I am planning on moving to Prime’s, so it worked out well for me. That, and I needed another Grip. I even got the extra battery for the grip (even though I already had one), so now, my battery life will out last my CF capacity. Guess it’s time for a few more of those. And the cycle continues…
On to the mandatory mirror shots…
