And it’s done… My 2nd “L”…

03.31.2009

I found that I couldn’t use the 20-35mm focal length as much as I’d like to  (would be great for portraits, weeding, friends, etc), so I traded it for a 70-200mm F/4L. I’ve wanted one of these for quite a while, and now I have one. I’m totally stoked.

Here are two cell pics for your enjoyment (not bad for a cell phone)…

I got my first “L”!!!

03.24.2009

I just picked up my very first “L“. This has been so long in the waiting and wishing, I am SO happy!!!

It’s a 20-35 F/2.8 L. I know it’s an older one, but I did a lot of research. I found that while old, and no USM or FTM, it is still regarded as some of the best IQ from any of the “L“s. That sold me…

Sorry for the crappy pic. I had to have one for the post, so it was taken in horrible light with my laptop webcam lol…

A few pics from last night…

03.20.2009

I wanted to play with the new Canon 28-135mm IS last night, so I pulled out the 30D in the living room and took a few shots. The lighting was HORRIBLE, and no flash was used. These are all handheld, the a snippet of EXIF is w/ each one…

Dallas World Aquarium…

03.17.2009

My family and I went to Dallas for the weekend to see family, and while we were there, we all went to The Dallas World Aquarium. Below are some of the shots I took. This was my first time at an aquarium in my life, so I had a lot of fun. The shots I got aren’t the best, but as it was my first time in this type of environment, I’m happy w/ them… Here is a quick gallery of the shots:

Yesterday, we decided to just set out in one direction, and start driving. It’s fun to look at all the little towns TX has to offer, so sometimes we do that. We made a big 119.5mi square’ish circle (GPS Tracked/Saved/Verified), and these are a few of the shots I took…

I thought this was awesome (the scene, not the pic). Just to the right of the plane is the owners house, and behind that is a LONG grass covered runway. He also has another older plane (looks like a WWII fighter jet) in that open garage. VERY cool scene…
